Mildew

Midtconsult offers a wide range of consultancy services concerning indoor climate investigations for housing and industrial buildings. We have the use of the latest equipment and offer services such as preliminary investigations and advice concerning solutions for damp and mildew problems including other damages from fungi in buildings.

When mildew is suspected in e.g. housing, a preliminary investigation will be carried out checking the construction of the building, windows, installations and ventilation, in order to determine whether there are any reasons relating to the building which cause the mildew.

After this an electronic reading will be made with regards the temperature and damp, usually over a period of a week, which will indicate the pattern for the building’s use and whether the mildew is caused by a lack of heating or ventilation.

When the cause of the mildew has been discovered, it may be necessary in individual cases, depending on the extent, to take samples for laboratory tests in order to determine the type of fungi so that necessary renovation can be commenced.

Often the damage is limited and only cleaning and removal of the mildew smitten surfaces will be necessary, including a crucial effort to determine the cause of the accumulation of damp.
