It has been determined, that a poor indoor climate affects working abilities and concentration in a negative direction and can increase sickness leave. Therefore it is often a stipulation, that a good indoor climate must be established in all newly built offices so that employees can feel comfortable. There are many different types of offices e.g. cell offices, open plan offices or offices for a few people and conference rooms. All the offices mentioned have different stipulations concerning air change. Open plan offices with many employees present extra stipulations to ventilation in order to achieve a satisfactory temperature and air quality. Large modern glass sections create problems concerning heat on sunny days. The excess heat can be removed by ventilation often supplemented with chilled beams. Ventilation must be energy saving so it is recommended that one uses ventilation which can be controlled as required and adjusts to the air change in the office as needed. By installing a temperature or CO² sensor it is possible to regulate the quantity of the injected air so the best conditions are achieved for the office with a minimum consumption of energy. By using an indoor climate simulation program called BSim we are able to design the best indoor climate with varying operational strategies around the clock and all year round.
Through the years, midtconsult has gained a vast range of experience in consultancy and project designs for new office buildings and the renovation of existing offices e.g. Mikado House, VAT 83, Zenit Company House, Queens Corner, Havneholmen Atrium and Havneholmen Tower.
