For many years the Soya cake factory lay at the end of Islands Brygge and was an important part of the cities´ industrial and dock area with silos, production halls and cargo ships along the docks. After the factory moved, the buildings lay empty but today life has again come to the area and is one of the most active building sites in the city called Havnestaden.

The previous Wennberg Silo is now being refurbished as 142 flats on 16 floors for private use.
